Based on their application, FRP boats are mainly divided into three categories: civilian boats, work boats, and special-purpose boats. Civilian boats are primarily used for leisure and recreation, including yachts, fishing boats, and sailboats. These vessels emphasize comfort and aesthetics, typically featuring streamlined designs and high-performance power systems. Work boats, such as patrol boats, fishing boats, and transport boats, focus on functionality. They require high structural strength and durability and are often used for maritime law enforcement, fishing, or short-distance transportation. Special-purpose boats are specialized vessels designed for specific missions, such as fireboats, scientific research vessels, and rescue boats. The materials and equipment configuration of these vessels must meet the operational requirements of specialized environments. Based on their structural type, FRP boats can be categorized as monohulls, catamarans, and multihulls. Monohulls are the most common type, offering a simple structure and excellent stability, making them suitable for most general navigation scenarios. Catamarans, consisting of two parallel hulls, offer a wider deck area and a lower draft, and are commonly used for high-speed passenger transport or water sports. Multihulls, such as trimarans, further expand the number of hulls. Their advantages lie in increased stability and fuel efficiency, and are often found in high-end yachts or military applications.

 

Furthermore, based on construction techniques and specifications, FRP boats can be categorized as standard or custom. Standard boats adhere to general industry design specifications, are mass-produced at a lower cost, and are suitable for the mass market. Custom boats are designed to meet individual customer requirements, such as specific dimensions, powertrain configurations, or interior styles, and are commonly found in the high-end market or specialized fields.

 

With advances in materials science and manufacturing processes, the performance of FRP boats continues to improve, and their application range continues to expand. In the future, with increasing environmental protection requirements and the integration of intelligent technologies, FRP boats will demonstrate their unique value in even more areas, becoming a vital tool for water transportation and operations.
